Visa/Cedula Processing

For most new arrivals, dealing with the Immigration Service is both intimidating and frustrating. With our Visa/Cédula Service, we'll take you through each step of the process, from checking that you have the correct paperwork to interacting with the Immigration personnel on your behalf. We have the knowledge, experience, and the contacts to lead you through the maze of bureaucracy to residency in Ecuador.

The Visa and Cédula process

NOTE: The Cédula is the National Identity Card

Gathering Documents, Notary and Apostille

You will need to gather the required documents and have them notarized and apostilled. We will be happy to provide you with a list of the documents that are needed for your visa and for your Cédula. You can request the documents and get them notarized and apostilled yourself or have a service do it for you.

Since the rules are constantly changing on what paper work is needed to become a resident of Ecuador we recommend a service provider that can help you take the stress away that the preparation of documents needed can cause. Please contact us for more information.

Our Visa/Cédula Service includes checking your documents prior to taking them to Immigration and taking you through the entire process of acquiring your visa and/or cédula. Our pricing DOES NOT include translations, notary fees and the required government fees.

On November 5, 2015 the Cuenca visa office moved to the neighboring city of Azogues, 27 kilometers away. Transportation costs are not included in the Basic Visa Fees.

Our pricing assumes that you have brought with you all the documents that are required for your visa application, including all notaries and apostilles. If you are in doubt as to what you need, please contact us BEFORE coming to Ecuador, preferably at least four months in advance of your leaving.

Please note all translations, notarizations, alterations or corrections need to be done to your documents, these will be billed at $15/ ”normal” page (this is for a letter sized page with normal sized type) plus a $25 per document notary fee. Please ask about pricing for translations of non-standard sized documents
